    Microchips have helped reunite thousands of pets with their families. We offer the AVID microchips to increase the chances of a safe recovery. This service only takes a few minutes and may be done in the office during a yearly exam or technician appointment.

    A Microchip is a tiny transponder which is inserted under the skin of your pet, between the shoulder blades, as a permanent form of identification. Shelters and veterinary practices nation wide use universal scanners on lost pets in order to reconnect them with their owners.     Regular professional cleaning is important to maintaining your pet's teeth. We use modern and safe ultrasonic scalers to clean each tooth thoroughly - above and below the gum line. Dental technicians polish teeth to create a smooth, lustrous tooth surface more resistant to plaque buildup. Fluoride treatments help strengthen enamel and reduce tooth sensitivity.   • Euthanasia and Hospice Services

    Quality of life is very important. Many pets with terminal conditions can experience pain or discomfort. We are here to assist you in designing a hospice system that can make your pets last days comfortable. Additionally, we will help you recognize the signs of medical decline so that if you wish to euthanize your pet we may provide you support and council.

    Saying goodbye to a long-time friend is devastating. We work with you to ensure your pet's comfort and dignity. Our staff is dedicated to couceling you regarding this final procedure and attending to the needs of both you and your beloved pet. Euthanasia solution is a concentrated form of anesthetic specifically designed to painlessly render your pet into such a deep form of anesthesia that it eventually shuts down all organ systems. The medication comes in the form of an intravenous injection given by the veterinarian. This is often the last gift we can give a pet with a terminal or painful condition.     We offer you and your family to be present at the time of euthanasia or you may leave your pet with us and allow our loving staff to take care of your pet. Closure is a very important part of the grieving process and we wish to assist in giving you and your pet the best care during this difficult time. Many clients who have children prefer our Clay Paw service, which is an impression of your pet's footprint in a clay mold as a keepsake. For owners who wish to be present, we will require the placement of an IV catheter for your pet's comfort. We will also give a minor sedative to ensure that your pet is not anxious prior to the procedure.

    After care: Care of remains varies from persona to person. We are here to facilitate you in caring for your pet in a way that adheres to your belief system. You may take your pet home in order to make your own arrangements, or you may decide to have AVAH perform a general care of remains or private cremation through Gateway Pet Crematorium in San Bernardino. Cremains can be returned to the hospital for pick up approximately one week after euthanasia.
